Birth Doulas

Michela – Tier 4

From an early age Michela has been immensely passionate about pregnancy and childbirth. She has a BA from New York University in Parenting and Family Studies, a self-designed major. While an undergraduate at NYU, Michela worked as a nanny for several families who used doulas and practiced conscious parenting. With their support she began her journey toward becoming a doula, becoming a certified DONA birth doula and volunteering with low-income teen mothers. During this time she also taught parenting classes to teen mothers in Brooklyn and ran an educational program for pregnant and parenting teens who live in foster care in Queens.

Michela places great value on supporting women and families as they go through the powerful and trying experience of pregnancy and childbirth. It is of utmost importance to Michela that her clients feel validated, supported, and connected with their support team as they begin their roles as new parents. It is also important that each mother feels agency and has trust in her care providers so that together they can face any challenges that may arise.Michela loves working as a doula and is so grateful to have the opportunity to do this inspiring work. When she is not at a birth you may find her at home in Brooklyn drinking coffee, doing yoga, and spending time with close friends.
